Fox Hounds Anderson's 'Mr. Fox'
Dahl adaptation will feature several animation styles
Fox Animation will be entrusted with transferring Anderson and Noah Baumbach's script into a number of animation forms, including a heavy dose of stop-motion, according to Variety.
Dahl's book focuses on three blundering farmers -- Boggis, Bunce and Bean -- who decide to exterminate the title character. In fairness, Mr. Fox has been eating their chickens, but the farmers go overboard and Mr. Fox is forced to use his wits to survive.
Anderson and Baumbach, who also collaborated on the script for "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou," have been talking about this film for several years and it was originally set up at Revolution Studios before going into turnaround with most of Revolution's slate.
In its current form, Anderson will direct. He'll also share production duties with Scott Rudin.
Anderson's next film is the previously announced "The Darjeeling Limited," featuring Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman. He'll reportedly begin pre-production on "Mr. Fox" while shooting "Darjeeling."
