The Hollywood Foreign Press Association's 66th annual Golden Globes, severely cut back last year due to the writers' strike, is back for 2009 with glitz and glamour. Kate Winslet won two awards: best actress in a drama for "Revolutionary Road" and best supporting dramatic actress for "The Reader." "Slumdog Millionaire" took home awards for best picture, best director and best screenplay.
Earlier, Heath Ledger was awarded a posthumous best supporting actor award for his role in "The Dark Knight" and Colin Farrell was named best comedy actor for "In Bruges." Cable continued to dominate the television nominations: "Mad Men" took home the gold for best dramatic series. Earlier, Gabriel Byrne won best dramatic actor for his work on "In Treatment," and Anna Paquin took the best actress in a drama Globe for freshman vampire series "True Blood."
