'Gilmore Girls' Actress Pregnant
LOS ANGELES --
Just consider Melissa McCarthy's motherhood on "Gilmore Girls" practice for the real thing.
The 37-year-old actress and her actor husband Ben Falcone are expecting their first child together, reports People.
"We are so excited about the baby," says McCarthy. "I'm hoping the baby has a lot of Ben's calm traits and less of my spazzy ones."
The couple married in October 2005. The baby is due in May.
Falcone made an appearance on his wife's show in 2003 and had a recurring role as Howard on the "Friends" spinoff "Joey." His big-screen credits include "Cheaper by the Dozen 2," "Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties" and "Unaccompanied Minors." He recently produced and stars in the independent film "Polk Valley."
McCarthy is best known as the hyper chef Sookie St. James at the Dragonfly Inn on the CW's "Gilmore Girls." Her character is married to her produce man Jackson Belleville (Jackson Douglas). She's loaned her voice to the character DNAmy on "Kim Possible" and her film resume include "Charlie's Angels" and "White Oleander."
