'Detroit 1-8-7' (ABC)
Viewers will be faced with a glut of shows shot documentary-style this fall, and ABC's cop show "Detroit 1-8-7" was going to be one of them. A real-life incident involving a reality-show crew, however, led the city of Detroit to ban crews following officers in the field and the show's producers to scrap the conceit.
Rather than dooming the show, though, its producers think it will actually open up new opportunities -- and even taking out the docu elements, the pilot (shot on location) was better than we expected. So we're curious to see how the changes take shape.
