'Boardwalk Empire' (HBO)

We didn't need a hard sell on HBO's "Boardwalk Empire," which boasts the likes of "Sopranos" writer-producer Terence Winter and director Martin Scorsese behind the camera and Steve Buscemi, Michael Pitt, Kelly Macdonald and Michael Shannon in front of it. But after hearing Winter and Scorsese share their vision for the show -- and scuttlebutt that each episode is better than the previous one -- we're even more jazzed for it.
