On the one hand, there's "No Ordinary Family," a live-action "The Incredibles" about a family of four (headed by Michael Chiklis and Julie Benz) who suddenly develop super powers. Chiklis and Benz's best friends, Romany Malco ("Weeds") and Autumn Reeser ("The O.C.") are a delight and there's every indication that if it doesn't get too caught up in the drama of it all, it'll be fun family fare.
On the other, there's "Running Wilde," about a wealthy do-nothing (Will Arnett) and his quest to win over his environmental activist childhood sweetheart (Keri Russell). It has us chomping at the bit to see -- it's from the man who brough us "Arrested Development," how could it not -- and we really are willing it to greatness. The original pilot didn't live up to our hopes, but reassurances from the creative team that they too weren't 100% satisfied, and a laid out plan of how they're going to fix it has brought us back over to its side.
Give them both a chance.
