TV Gal Calls for a Vote
Note: The polls for the Amy Awards are now closed. Please come back Monday, July 3, for the unveiling of the winners.
Have I told you lately that I love you?
Thanks so much to everyone who posted their nominations for the 2006 Amy Awards. I had such a blast (and just a smidge of carpal tunnel syndrome) reading through your nominations. This really is my favorite time of year.
I learn so much. Like who knew you didn't like it when I talked about "American Idol"? Or that there are people out there who read my column and don't like "Everwood." The horror.
A few things over heard when the nominations were announced:
Upon hearing that she was nominated for Best Scene Stealer, Dr. Miranda Bailey said, "Do you think I have time for that foolishness? Get back to work." Barney piped in to say, "Before you go, can we play a little game I like to call haaave you met Ted?" Meanwhile Chloe just gave everyone a dirty look.
When Beaver heard he was nominated for Best Death, he screamed "My name is Cassidy." Um, can you say issues?
Donna and Josh called from their honeymoon to thank us for voting their kiss the most shocking moment. While I received a very unsettling phone call from "The Sopranos" about their nominations for worst season finale. If I'm not back next week, you'll know why.
Remember the Amy Awards wouldn't exist without you. Because you picked the categories. You picked the nominees. And now you'll pick winners.
Phew. That's all for today. I'll return next week with your regularly scheduled column. Don't forget to watch the season premiere of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" (Thursday at 10 p.m.). We'll have the winners of the 2006 Amy Awards and I'll continue to work my way through next season's new shows. Now get out there and vote. Have a question, seen a familiar face, have an inside scoop or want to nominate a quote of the week? Write me at amytvgal@zap2it.com .
