Reality-host nominees will emcee awards

Only one of the five Emmy nominees for outstanding reality-show host will actually win the award, but all of them will get plenty of camera time during the ceremony.

ABC and the television academy will have the fine nominated hosts -- Tom Bergeron ("Dancing with the Stars"), Heidi Klum (" Project Runway"), Howie Mandel ("Deal or No Deal"), Jeff Probst ("Survivor") and Ryan Seacrest (" American Idol") -- serve as the emcees for the 60th annual Emmy Awards, which air Sept. 21. It's the first time that all the nominees in a category will also host the awards show.

"We're excited by the addition of this new category, as it reflects the broad appeal of reality television, and think it will be one of the most competitive moments of the night," says Vicki Dumer, who oversees reality and special programs for ABC. "We're thrilled to see these hosts' roles and talent recognized and look forward to watching them do what they do best on Emmy night."

The last time the Emmys used multiple hosts was in 2003, when a passel of comedians kept the show moving. This year's ceremony will also mark the second straight hosting gig for Seacrest, who served as a solo host of the awards on FOX in 2007.

Bergeron has hosted the Daytime Emmys in the past. The other three will make their awards-host debuts on the show.
