ABC's 'Football Wives' Casts a Real One
Whitman, Fuller and Paul also find work in ABC and NBC pilots
Robinson Peete is part of a wave of casting that also sees a new sister for "The Bionic Woman" and an actress ready to live the "Wildlife."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Robinson Peete, wife of journeyman quarterback Rodney Peete, will actually play a football mom in ABC's soapy drama pilot, specifically the mother of the star wide receiver played by Brian White.
The "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper" and "Like Family" star joins a cast that already includes Gabrielle Union, Kiele Sanchez, Lucy Lawless, Ving Rhames, Eddie Cibrian, James Van Der Beek and Arielle Kebbel.
Also at ABC, Jarrad Paul ("Action!") and Kurt Fuller ("Big Day") will take supporting roles in the comedy "See Jayne Run," joining Ava Gaudet and Stephen Rannazzisi in show about an alpha female at an investment banking firm.
Over at NBC, Mae Whitman ("Arrested Development," "Thief") will play the sister of the title character (Michelle Ryan) in "The Bionic Woman."
In other NBC casting news, Mo Collins will be featured in the single-camera comedy "Wildlife," with Brooke D'Orsay, Christopher Sieber and Philip Baker Hall. She'll play a bored wildlife handler.
