Pilots: Andre Braugher One of TNT's 'Men'
Emmy winner joins Ray Romano dramedy
Two-time Emmy winner Andre Braugher, who's known for his on-screen intensity, will lighten up a little in his next role. The former "Homicide" star has joined TNT's pilot "Men of a Certain Age," a dramedy about the friendship between three guys in their 40s. Elsewhere, NBC's "My Own Worst Enemy" has added Yara Martinez, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"Men of a Certain Age" was created by "Everybody Loves Raymond" star Ray Romano and writer Mike Royce, who penned the pilot together and are executive producing. Romano will also star as a divorced dad who once dreamed of a pro golf career.
Braugher will play one of his best friends, a stressed-out family man who works as a car salesman.
Braugher starred in A&E's miniseries "The Andromeda Strain" last month. He won Emmys in 1998 for "Homicide" and 2006 for the FX miniseries "Thief." His other recent credits include "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" and "The Mist."
At NBC, Martinez will play Christian Slater's wife in "My Own Worst Enemy," a woman who knows nothing about her husband's double life as a suburban dad/superspy. Martinez has appeared on "The Unit" and "Vanished."
