'Ugly Betty's' Ashley Jensen leaves for CBS' 'Accidentally on Purpose'
Jensen currently plays Betty's friend Christina
Ashley Jensen has been cast in the Jenna Elfman-starring comedy pilot "Accidentally on Purpose" for CBS, report the trades.
The CBS Paramount- and BermanBraun-produced project centers on a San Francisco movie critic Billie (Elfman) who has a fling with a younger man and finds herself "accidentally" with child. She then must deal with the unconventional family that comes from her actions.
There's no word yet what role Jensen will play.
It had been rumored that Jensen would be leaving "Ugly Betty" after the ABC comedy moved its production from Los Angeles to New York and the actress was the only one not to relocate.
On the show, Jensen plays designer Christina McKinney, who this season acted as a surrogate mother for Mode editor Wilhelmina Slater (Vanessa Williams). "Ugly Betty" exec producer Silvio Horta says it's possible Christina will be back to visit her friend.
Jensen is also known as Maggie Jacobs on the Ricky Gervais comedy "Extras."
