Ashley Tisdale didn't do it for cosmetic reasons

"High School Musical 2" star Ashley Tisdale is even more fabulous now that she's had a nose job.

The Disney Channel actress had a rhinoplasty procedure done on Friday, Nov. 30 in Los Angeles, reports People.

"Growing up I always knew I had a deviated septum on the right side of my nose, which caused trouble breathing," says Tisdale. "The older I got, the worse it got. I went to get it checked out, and the doctor told me the septum was 80 percent deviated and that I had two small fractures on my nose."

The 22-year-old actress knows that she's a role model for young girls, and wanted to emphasize that she wasn't recommend it to just anyone.

"I didn't do this because I believe in plastic surgery. I did this to help my health. I literally almost could not breathe out of the right side of my nose," says Tisdale. "I want my fans to know the truth. I'm not someone who is going to act like I had nothing done. I just want to be honest because my fans are everything to me."

Tisdale will be recovered by the time "High School Musical 3" begins filming early next year. In the popular Disney franchise, she plays Sharpay Evans, the fabulously rich and stylish belle of her school. She's a also a regular cast member on the channel's "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody."
