'Huff' co-star joins profiling team

Paget Brewster has joined the cast of CBS' hit Wednesday drama "Criminal Minds."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brewster will play a new profiler joining the show's central team of FBI behavioral experts led by Mandy Patinkin's Special Agent Jason Gideon.

In its second season, "Criminal Minds" has averaged roughly 16 million viewers, hitting series highs in most key demographics.

Brewster shed her hard-earned "show-killer" reputation when her most recent series, Showtime's Emmy-winning "Huff," was renewed for a second season before its first episode aired. Showtime has since pulled the plug on the show.

Previous series credits for Brewster include "The Trouble with Normal" and "Andy Richter Controls the Universe." She may still be best know for an arc on "Friends." Her upcoming credits include the feature "Unaccompanied Minors" and the TNT telefilm "A Perfect Day."
