Britney's Bald 'Do and Dainty Tattoo
Oops! singer made headlines again
That buzzing sound heard over the weekend was the media frenzy resulting from Britney Spears shaving herself bald with clippers. The singer made the shocking hairstyling choice on Friday (Feb. 16) at a small salon in Tarzana, Calif., report news sources.
Esther's Haircutting Studio owner Esther Tognozzi says that Spears and her bodyguards were admitted in during closing time. Tognozzi refused to comply when the pop singer first requested to have her head shaved.
"Of course I tried to talk her out of it," Tognozzi tells "Extra." " I said, 'Maybe you're having a hormonal moment or something and maybe tomorrow you'll feel differently about it. She said 'No, I want to shave it off.' So while I was talking to her body guard ... she grabbed the buzzer and started buzzing her own hair off. ... I just cleaned it up when she was done with it."
Thus off came the hair -- brunette extensions and all. Apparently, Spears didn't show much emotion during the process except at the end when she commented, "My mom is going to freak."
Spears wasn't charged for the haircut since she did most of the work herself, but the bodyguards left a tip.
""I didn't want to be liable, I didn't want to get sued," says Tognozzi about not performing the cut herself. "I didn't want her agent to call me and say, 'You ruined her image,' but maybe she's starting a new image."
That new image also includes new ink. Spears followed up her impromptu haircut by patronizing the Body and Soul tattoo parlor in Sherman Oaks. She left with a fresh tattoo on her wrist of a pair of red and pink lips.
All this activity comes on the heels of reports that Spears had entered a rehab facility and then promptly checked out one day later.
