'Malcolm' Dad Turns Devil on 'Fallen'
ABC Family adds four more hours to angel saga
Bryan Cranston, who played the besieged father on "Malcolm in the Middle," will soon deal with a different kind of hell. The actor will tap into his dark side to play Lucifer on ABC Family's follow-up of "Fallen," returning in the summer of 2007.
The original two-hour movie premiered in July 2006 and centered on 18-year-old adoptee Aaron Corbett (Paul Wesley), who discovers that he's half-angel, half-human -- a Nephilim. Not only that, but he discovers a whole new world where angels walk amongst us. The problem is, it appears that the Powers, a band of murderous angels, is out to get him, while the Fallen are willing to help him in hopes that he's the Chosen One who can redeem them.
Along with Wesley, who returns as Aaron, Rick Worthy and Fernanda Andrade will reprise their roles as the angel Camael and the beautiful Vilma, respectively. Also joining the cast are "Casino Royale" Bond girl Ivana Milicevic as Ariel, Hal Ozsan as Azazel and Will Yun Lee as Mazarin.
Production has already begun in Vancouver on the four new hours in the saga.
Cranston, 50, played Hal and directed a few episodes on FOX's "Malcolm in the Middle." He also directed an upcoming episode of ABC's wedding comedy "Big Day" and appeared on the big screen in "Little Miss Sunshine."
