Mary Delgado was arrested for decking Byron Velvick

The one relatively successful romance from "The Bachelor" has hit a snag.

Byron Velvick, aka Bachelor No. 6, was assaulted by Mary Delgado, the woman he had picked on the show to marry him, report news sources.

Just after midnight on Wednesday, Nov. 21, Delgado reportedly punched him in the face, caushing his upper lip to bleed. She was arrested in Tampa, Florida. Alcohol may have been a factor in the incident.

Velvick, 43, is the only "Bachelor" contestant to stay with his chosen lady. This past week, he and Delgado appeared with "Bachelorette" winner Trista Sutter nee Rehn and her chosen husband Ryan Sutter on the "After the Final Rose" reunion special to prove that couples do find love on the show.

Velvick and Delgado were planning to wed this November. Byron Paul Velvick is a professional bass fisherman, while Maribel Liliana "Mary" Delgado is a former cheerleader for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The latest edition of "The Bachelor" enraged viewers when Texan Brad Womack opted to not choose either of his final women to pursue romance after the show.
