'Pirate Master' Walks the Plank
Episodes will stream online
Although the "Survivor" guru's FOX dud "On the Lot" continues to limp along into oblivion, CBS has yanked "Pirate Master" from its schedule.
The remaining five episodes will be posted on CBS' various online streaming hubs every Tuesday until the network runs out.
Through its first six airings, "Pirate Master" averaged just over 6 million viewers per week, shifting between Thursday and Tuesday nights. The performance of the Cameron Daddo-hosted "Survivor" clone may not have been impressive, but at least that's better than the average audience for "On the Lot," which has hovered just below 3 million.
Burnett probably doesn't need any addition reasons to take solace, but at least "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader" has remained a solid success for FOX through the summer. Plus, NBC rescued "The Contender" from the scrapheap, setting a celebrity edition for sometime next season.
