CBS switches 8 p.m. comedy block starting in March
The network announced on Wednesday (Feb. 20) that effective Monday, March 17, "The Big Bang Theory" and "How I Met Your Mother" will swap positions in the 8 p.m. ET hour.
"The Big Bang Theory," which has already been renewed for next season, will bring its average audience of 8.36 million to the 8 p.m. slot.
"HIMYM," which has yet to be renewed, has averaged 8.02 million for the season and will return to the 8:30 slot when it kicked off last year. The comedy aired only three times at 8:30 last season before CBS moved it to 8:00 and pushed "The Class" to 8:30.
CBS' Monday will go "The Big Bang Theory," "HIMYM," "Two and a Half Men" and "The New Adventures of Old Christine" into April 14, when "Rules of Engagement" returns to the 9:30 slot.
