Geeks, Models Kick Off CW Season
Reality premieres come a little early, go a little long
The CW will begin the 2007-08 season with its two flagship reality shows before launching into its scripted shows in late September.Two-hour premieres of "Beauty and the Geek" and "America's Next Top Model" will kick off the network's second season on the air on Sept. 18 and 19. Coupled with the season premiere of "Friday Night Smackdown!" on Sept. 21 -- although it's in originals year-round -- The CW will put its three most-watched shows from last season on the air right off the bat.
The following week, "Geek" and "Top Model" will then lead into two of the network's new series: "Reaper," which debuts at 9 p.m. ET Tuesday, Sept. 25, and "Gossip Girl," which premieres the following night, Wednesday, Sept. 26.
"Smallville" begins its sixth season the next night, while the network's Monday comedy block begins on Oct. 1. "Supernatural" rolls out its third season on Oct. 4, and the new drama "Life Is Wild" wraps up The CW's premiere schedule on Sunday, Oct. 7.
