The doctor is in. Let the "de-wussification" begin.

On USA Network's upcoming fall season, "Jackass" alum Steve-O will practice his particular form of medicine on the wimpy men across America, while Alicia Witt joins "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" as it moves to cable for its seventh season.

During the seven episodes of the reality program "Dr. Steve-O," set to premiere Monday, Oct. 1 following "WWE Monday Night RAW," the titular daredevil will travel the country with a simple mission: to "de-wussify" the wimpy men of America through "extreme attitude adjustments" that amount to shocking stunts and demented dares.

"Steve-O brings his unique personality and sensibility to USA's incomparable line-up of characters," says Jeff Wachtel, USA's executive vice president original programming. "By joining him with 'WWE Monday Night RAW,' USA will guarantee the most thrilling night for male viewers on cable."

More appealing to the network's female audience is the addition of Alicia Witt to the cast of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," which makes its cable premiere on Thursday, Oct. 4. Witt will play, Det. Nola Falacci, the new partner of Det. Mike Logan (Chris Noth), temporarily replacing Julianne Nicholson, who is out on maternity leave.

In other USA news, the network announced that it will plans to develop three more original programs for the 2008 season. "Halo" revolves around an average ne'er-do-well who reluctantly begins performing good deeds after he awakes one morning to find a halo on his head, while "The Expert" centers on a hermit-like librarian who uses her synesthesia -- a condition in which the wiring for her senses get crossed -- to help the police capture criminals. Finally, in "A Citizen's Arrest," an adult who has been institutionalized his whole life is released and becomes an undercover cop, who, with the help of his agoraphobic roommate, begins to solve cases.
