Dylan McDermott Walks 'The Line' for TNT
'The Practice' veteran will star in the crime-show pilot
The former star of "The Practice" will star in the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced show as the leader of an undercover unit in the Los Angeles Police Department, according to The Hollywood Reporter. His casting follows the addition of three other actors -- Nicki Aycox, Omari Hardwick and Logan Marshall-Green -- to the show earlier this week.
McDermott's character is a lieutenant who created the undercover unit and works to maintain a professional relationship with his officers despite his personal feelings toward them. His cops, in turn, are trying to stay clean in the face of the numerous temptations their undercover work throws at them.
McDermott earned an Emmy nomination in 1999 for his work on "The Practice." He won a Golden Globe for the role the same year and was nominated two other times.
He starred in ABC's "Big Shots" last season and is currently working on the feature film "Burning Palms." His credits also include TNT's miniseries "The Grid," "Wonderland" and "In the Line of Fire."
