Edie Falco Rolls to '30 Rock'
'Sopranos' star will appear in three episodes
For her first TV work following "The Sopranos," Edie Falco will go in a very different direction. The Emmy-winning actress will guest-star on three episodes of NBC's "30 Rock" this season. It's her first television gig following the conclusion of "The Sopranos" in June and her first broadcast-network appearance since doing a guest spot on "Will & Grace" in 2004.
"I have laughed out loud at this show, and I am thrilled for the opportunity to work with such great comic actors," Falco says. "I am very excited."
So is "30 Rock" creator and star Tina Fey. "We're thrilled to have such an amazing actress come join us," Fey says. "Also, a lot of guys on our crew want 'The Sopranos' ending explained to them."
Falco will be one of several high-profile guests on the second-year comedy. Jerry Seinfeld will appear on the Oct. 4 season premiere, while Rip Torn ("The Larry Sanders Show"), Will Arnett ("Arrested Development") and probable new "The View" co-host Sherri Shepherd will reprise their roles from last season.
Falco has won three Emmys and two Golden Globes playing Carmela Soprano on HBO's landmark series "The Sopranos." She's nominated for an outstanding-actress Emmy again this year.
