James Roday, Jesse Plemons among additions to show

NBC is keeping its summer series "Fear Itself" in the media-conglomerate family, casting stars from several of its shows in the horror/suspense anthology.

Jesse Plemons ("Friday Night Lights"), "Psych" stars James Roday and Maggie Lawson and "Eureka's" Colin Ferguson will all appear in the series, which premieres Thursday, June 5. Wendell Pierce of "The Wire" and Clifton Collins Jr. ("Thief," "Capote") have also signed onto the show.

"Fear Itself" has also lined up directors John Dahl ("The Last Seduction," "You Kill Me"), Rupert Wainwright ("The Fog") and Larry Fessenden ("Wendigo") to helm episodes of the series.

Plemons will appear in an episode called "The Sacrifice," in which four on-the-lam criminals take refuge in an abandoned fort. The building soon reveals a host of secrets, including three sirens who live there. Jeffrey Pierce ("The Nine,"), Mircea Monroe ("Drive"), Stephen Martines ("General Hospital") and Rachel Miner ("Californication") also star in the episode.

"In Sickness and in Health" stars Lawson as a new bride who receives a note on her wedding day claiming that her husband-to-be (Roday) is a serial killer. Ferguson will star in "Family Man," about a guy who switches bodies with a murderer (Collins) after a near-death experience. Pierce will play a veterinarian who gets bitten by a strange animal and starts to see life differently in "Something with Bite."

Dahl will direct a Jekyll-and-Hyde story called "Chance." Fessenden is set to helm an episode about a man possessed by a monster, and Wainwright will direct about a group of girls who try to resurrect a dead classmate.
