'Joe Millionaire' producers shatter the glass ceiling

FOX is shaking up gender roles -- and probably generating controversy -- with a new reality program that posits what happens "When Women Rule the World."

It's here that half of our readers scream in unison, "Like they don't already?"

Production has already begun on the tentatively titled series, which will plunk a group of participants in a remote and primitive location (the sets of "Forever Eden" and "Paradise Hotel" are probably available). Once there, the female contestants will be put in charge and the men will have to obey their every command.

The women will then eliminate one male contestant after another until... well... who knows?

FOX posits on some potential drama by wondering, "How will the men react? How will the women treat the men? Can women effectively rule society? Will the men learn what life is like for some women in today's world? Will this new society be a Utopia or a hell on earth? And in the end, who will be man enough to succeed in the new social order?"

The network has yet to announce a premiere date, host or ultimate format and goal for the series.

"When Women Rule the World" comes from Rocket Science Laboratories, the same company that brought FOX "Joe Millionaire" and "My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance." Of course, Rocket Science also brought FOX "Married by America" and "My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss," but they can't all be winners.
