The 2008-09 season has its first casualty -- FOX's sitcom "Do Not Disturb."

The comedy, which lasted but three episodes as part of FOX's Wednesday-night lineup, will be replaced by repeats of its lead-in, "'Til Death," for the time being. FOX had initially said the show was only taking a short break, but the network has now confirmed it won't be back.

Seven episodes of the show were filmed; it's not clear whether the four unaired shows will see the light of day.

"Do Not Disturb" starred Jerry O'Connell Neal, as the egotistical general manager of a hip New York hotel, and Niecy Nash as Rhonda, the head of human resources, and centered on the upstairs-downstairs clashes between them. The cast also included Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Molly Stanton, Jolene Purdy and Dave Franco.

The show averaged only a shade over 4 million viewers in its three airings and a meager 1.6 rating among adults 18-49. Critics were also down on the series -- so much so that the show's producers sent out a letter apologizing for the show's shaky start and urging critics to give it a second look. They won't get that chance now.

"Do No Disturb" joins the likes of "Online Nation" and "Smith" in the first-cancelled club from recent seasons.
