Extended actors include Eliza Dushku, Oded Fehr and Anson Mount

Add FOX's "Nurses" and "The Cure" to the list of seemingly rejected pilots that aren't quite dead yet.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, FOX has extended its options on the pair of medical offerings, suggesting that both shows could remain in the network's plans for a possible midseason resurrection.

"Nurses" comes from 20th Century Fox TV and has been generally described as a medical dramedy. The original pilot was directed by P.J. Hogan and focused on a group of nurses toplined by Eliza Dushku ("Tru Calling") and Sara Rue ("Less Than Perfect").

FOX is believed to have extended the options for all of the "Nurses" principal players, a group that would also include Drew Sidora ("Step Up"), Jaclyn DeSantis and Gregory Harrison.

In the case of "The Cure," FOX has only extended two of its leading men, Oded Fehr and Anson Mount. "The Cure," a medical thriller, followed the adventures of a group of renegade doctors (think "The A-Team" for health care) who travel the country helping people the system can't or won't assist. The Danny Cannon-directed pilot co-starred Esai Morales, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon and Liz Vassey.

The expectation is that "The Cure" would undergo some significant retooling if it were sent to series.
