Welcome Ozzy, Sharon, Jack and Kelly back to primetime

America's favorite family (circa 2002) will return to primetime with a new variety show.

FOX has ordered six episodes of the tentatively titled "The Osbournes: Loud and Dangerous," a new half-hour variety series hosted by Ozzy Osbourne, wife Sharon Osbourne and kids Jack and Kelly.

The network promises that the FremantleMedia North America production will combine musical performances, comedy sketches and game-show competitions with "the Osbournes' unique blend of humor and outrageous sensibility."

James Sutherland will executive produce.

"The Osbournes" premiered on MTV back in 2002 and pioneered the dysfunctional famous reality TV family genre that has turned its eye to clans fronted by the likes of Hulk Hogan and Gene Simmons in subsequent years.

Before signing off in 2005, "The Osbournes" aired more than 50 episodes and helped transform Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy from "The Prince of Darkness" to "The Somewhat Senile Old Guy Who Yells at His Wife A Lot." It also launched Sharon's successful side career as a TV judge/presenter/producer and helped both kids start variably successful acting careers.
