It will be the couple's first child together

Regardless of its gender, Gina Torres and Laurence Fishburne's baby will probably kick butt.

The Hollywood couple is expecting their first child together, due this summer, reports People.

The actors had dated for almost seven years before getting married in 2002. Fishburne already has two teenage children -- son Langston and daughter Montana -- with his first wife, Hajna Moss.

Torres, 37, is known for her strong TV roles including playing deadly spy Anna Espinosa on "Alias," the mind-controlling being Jasmine on "Angel," second-in-command Zoe Washburne on "Firefly" and Crisis Negotiation Unit supervisor Cheryl Carrera on FOX's "Standoff." Her film credits include two of the "Matrix" films with her husband and "Serenity," the big-screen sequel to the "Firefly" series. Next, she co-stars with Chris Rock in the comedy "I Think I Love My Wife."

Fishburne, 45, has his share of film credits that include "What's Love Got to Do With It," "Boyz in the Hood," the "Matrix" trilogy and "Akeelah and the Bee." He's currently one of the many faces that can be seen in the ensemble film "Bobby."
