ABC Enriches Greg Berlanti
'Eli Stone,' 'Brothers & Sisters' producer signs new deal
Greg Berlanti, who currently has three shows on the network, has signed a fat new deal with ABC Studios, where he's an executive producer of "Eli Stone," "Dirty Sexy Money" and "Brothers & Sisters." It's reportedly for five years and is worth north of $10 million.
"Greg's an original voice, a great storyteller, an effective producer and a hell of a nice guy," ABC Studios chief Mark Pedowitz tells The Hollywood Reporter. "The most talented people in the business want to work with him, and we're honored that he wants to work with us to keep telling the heartfelt, emotional stories that he's known for and that audiences love."
Berlanti has been with ABC Studios since 2006. He initially came aboard "Brothers & Sisters" as a temporary showrunner before the show's first season, then stayed on as a full-time exec producer. He co-created "Eli Stone" with Marc Guggenheim and also serves as an exec producer of "Dirty Sexy Money."
The deal also ensures that Berlanti can continue working with the studio that's given him what he calls "the most rewarding experience in my career."
"Knowing that I have a home in television for such a long period of time," he tells the HR, "allows me to focus instead on what kinds of shows I want to be part of next."
