'Entourage' producer brings new project to network

Mark Wahlberg, who executive produces "Entourage" and served as its initial inspiration, is extending his relationship with HBO.

The actor will executive produce a half-hour drama project called "In Treatment" for the pay-cable channel. It's about a therapist who's the picture of serenity with his patients and a self-loathing ball of anger when seeing his own shrink.

It's based on an Israeli series of the same name. HBO has given a five-episode order to the project but hasn't committed to putting them on the air, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Instead, the episodes will be treated as one long pilot presentation.

Rodrigo Garcia ("Six Feet Under," "Big Love") will direct the pilot and serve as a co-executive producer of "In Treatment." Hagai Levi, who produces the Israeli show, and Stephen Levinson will serve as exec producers with Wahlberg, and actress Noa Tishby ("The Island"), who helped bring the project to this country, will co-exec produce.

"Entourage" is in its third season on HBO, chronicling the life of young movie star Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier) and the hometown boys who make up his support system. The show was nominated for five Emmys earlier this month.

Wahlberg's recent on-screen credits include "Four Brothers" and "I Heart Huckabees." He next stars in "Invincible," which hits theaters in August.
