It'll Be 'Anarchy' for 'Shield' Star
Jay Karnes takes recurring part on new FX series
Jay Karnes, who plays cerebral Detective Dutch Wagenbach on "The Shield," has also landed a recurring role on the cable channel's new series "Sons of Anarchy." He'll appear in six episodes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The new series centers on a motorcycle club's efforts to keep the small California town it calls home free from both encroaching drug dealers and real estate developers. It stars Charlie Hunnam, Katey Sagal and Ron Perlman; Karnes will play an ATF agent.
"Sons of Anarchy" was created by "Shield" writer-executive producer Kurt Sutter. There won't be any conflicting demands for Karnes' time on the two shows since "The Shield" wrapped filming on its final season late last year; both shows are scheduled to premiere in September.
Karnes' credits also include guest stints on "Numb3rs" and "Judging Amy" and the independent film "Chasing 3000," which was released earlier this year.
