Actress has been dating her now fiancee for a couple years

After playing a newlywed on "Ghost Whisperer," Jennifer Love Hewitt is one step closer to being one herself -- a newlywed, not a ghost nor a whisperer.

The actress and her Scottish boyfriend, actor Ross McCall, became engaged last week, reports Us.

Ross reportedly gave her an antique engagement ring that has been in his family for over a century. The couple has been dating for two years and is currently vacationing in Hawaii. No wedding date has been announced yet.

McCall, 32, costarred in the HBO minisieres "Band of Brothers" and appeared on one episode of "Ghost Whisperer."

Hewitt, 28, plays Melinda Gordon, a woman who helps spirits of deceased people to finish their earthly work and cross over into The Light, on CBS' "Ghost Whisperer." She also enjoyed success as a regular on "Party of Five" and in the "I Know What You Did Last Summer" movies.
