Actor has alcohol issues

Like Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan, "Desperate Housewives" Jesse Metcalfe actor has decided to seek help.

The 28-year-old has checked himself into rehab, report various celebrity publications.

"On Monday, March 19, Jesse Metcalfe entered a rehab facility to deal with alcohol issues," says rep Susan Patricola said in a statement. "He realized he had a problem and was anxious to deal with it immediately."

The actor also "hopes that the media will allow him the privacy to deal properly with his treatment."

The name of the facility was not disclosed.

Metcalfe also appeared on "Smallville" and starred in the teen comedy "John Tucker Must Die."
