Jessica Stroup will play the lead's saucy best friend

The "Beverly Hills, 90210" update will enter the cyber age with a sexy Internet personality.

Jessica Stroup, last seen on The CW's "Reaper," will stay with the network by joining the cast of its highly anticipated "Beverly Hills, 90210" spinoff, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Stroup, 21, will play Silver, the best friend of new girl Annie Mills (Shenae Grimes) at West Beverly Hills. Silver is an ambitious girl with a video blog series.

The actress joins the already cast Grimes, Lori Loughlin, AnnaLynne McCord, Dustin Milligan and Ryan Eggold.

Stroup is a familiar face to The CW, playing Cady, the possible daughter of the devil, on "Reaper." Her feature credits include "The Hills Have Eyes II," "This Christmas," "Prom Night" and the upcoming thriller "Homecoming" alongside Mischa Barton.
