'Skating' Contestant Barberie Pregnant
The weathercaster forecasts the pitter patter of little feet
Jillian Barberie, who wore skimpy, bejeweled outfits on "Skating With Celebrities," is trading up for maternity wear. The "Good Day LA" co-host and her husband, actor Grant Reynolds, are expecting their first child, reports People.
"We're both thrilled," Barberie says. "I feel like I'm at a place in my life where I just am really happy. I never thought I wanted kids -– I was a career girl all these years. I never thought about it before until him."
The baby's due date is July 7, the first anniversary of the couple's marriage. Barberie, 40, and Reynolds, 38, wed in a private ceremony in her backyard this past summer. Barberie was previously married to professional baseball player Bret Barberie from 1996 to 2002.
Four months along, Barberie can't wait to find out the sex of her baby.
"My husband thinks it's a boy," she says, "Yesterday I saw him on the monitor and he was boxing. It could be a girl –- a little tomboy, which I kind of was."
Already, the little one has made his/her presence known in Barberie's diet.
"I'm a big fan of the protein diet, and since I've been pregnant all I've been eating is pasta, potatoes, rice, bread," she says. "And I used to be the biggest steak eater. I can't even look at a steak right now. The whole thought of it disgusts me."
Barberie first gained attention for providing the weather on "Fox NFL Sunday" in 2000, holding her own among the likes of James Brown, Terry Bradshaw and Howie Long. She currently reports the weather for Los Angeles' FOX 11 and has also hosted "The Test," "EX-treme Dating" and "Good Day Live."
Reynolds has only appeared in bit parts on the SciFi Channel's series "The Invisible Man" and in a handful of B movies.
