Baby boy is the first child for the actress and her husband

Former "ER" star Julianna Margulies was in the hospital for a different reason recently.

The newlywed actress and her husband, lawyer Keith Lieberthal, recently welcomed a baby boy into the family, confirms People.

The boy, named Kieran Lindsay Lieberthal, is the first child for the couple, who married in Massachusetts in November.

Margulies will soon return to the small screen with her upcoming legal drama "Canterbury's Law," which premieres on Monday, April 14 on FOX.

Margulies, 41, is best known as nurse Carol Hathaway on several seasons of "ER." Since then, she's been seen on "Scrubs," "The Sopranos," the Sci Fi miniseries "The Lost Room" and on the big-screen thriller "Snakes on a Plane."
