Dean and Sam find a Ruby

The Winchester Brothers are about to get more help rounding up demons.

Katie Cassidy has been cast in the upcoming season of "Supernatural," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In the third season premiere, fellow demon hunter Ruby (Cassidy) meets up with Dean and Sam Winchester (Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki) as they start wrangling the passel of demons that escaped from hell in the second season finale.

Cassidy, who is the daughter of '70s pop star David Cassidy, has made a name for herself on the big screen in films such as "Click," "When a Stranger Calls" and "Black Christmas." She's also signed on to star in the upcoming adaptation of "Dallas" and the "Revenge of the Nerds" remake.

On the small screen, she had a recurring role on "7th Heaven."
