Kevin Federline gets his second shot at an Emmy

Oh, what a difference a year makes.

After making his "acting" debut on "CSI" in 2006, Kevin Federline will once again flex his thespian muscle for a guest spot on the CW's hit drama "One Tree Hill," the network announced Monday (Aug. 20).

Not only will Fed-Ex reach into his bag of tricks to play Jason, described as the "cocky, enigmatic frontman for No Means Yes," the show's fictional leading rock band from Tree Hill, but he'll do it several times over. Yes, Federline will appear not in one, not in two, but in a "multi-episode arc" for the show.

The ex-Mr. Spears already showed off his acting chops on an episode of "CSI" in October 2006 in which he played a pig mask-wearing street thug who rubbed George Eads and Gary Dourdan the wrong way. The former backup dancer also starred in his own Super Bowl commercial as an ambitious fry cook.

Federline is currently in the public eye for his custody battle with Britney Spears over their two sons: Sean Preston, 22 months, and Jayden James, 10 months. The former couple both appeared in the 2005 UPN reality show "Chaotic," which chronicled their courtship. Not only is Federline concerned with his ex's erratic behavior with their sons, but it appears he's now shaping up to be the breadwinner in the family, considering this latest casting coup.

"One Tree Hill" will return midseason on The CW.
