'Women' Trouble: FOX Shakes Up Summer Schedule Again
'Moment of Truth' goes to Tuesdays, while 'When Women Rule the World' vanishes
We always tell you the same thing whenever we report a new FOX schedule: Don't become too attached. The ever-antsy network has shaken up its summer line-up once again. The cause for the network's juggling appears to be the latest yanking of the unscripted drama "When Women Rule the World." Originally ordered and shot early last year, the series was scheduled first for a nebulous midseason slot, then set for March, then pulled, then set for June and now it's vanished entirely.
The ripple effect goes like this:
Starting on Monday, June 2, FOX will be airing encores of "Bones" at 8 p.m. followed by "House" at 9 p.m., with "House" taking the slot originally intended for "When Women Rule the World."
That means that "House" is vacating the Tuesday 8 p.m. hour, which will be filled by new episodes of "The Moment of Truth" starting on Tuesday, May 27, leading into new hours of "Hell's Kitchen."
Wednesday nights will remain unchanged for the summer, starting with on May 28 with the second half of the two-night, four-hour "So You Think You Can Dance" premiere. The hoofing competition show will fill Wednesdays through most of the summer.
Thursday was supposed to be the summer home of "Moment of Truth," but with the lie detector series shifting to Tuesdays, new episodes of "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader" will premiere on June 12, leading into the "So You Think You Can Dance" results shows.
Friday nights will be set aside for movies, while Saturdays (with new episodes of "Cops" and "America's Most Wanted") and Sundays (with "Don't Forget the Lyrics" encores at 7 p.m.) will remain relatively stable.
And when will be find out what happens when women rule the world? Only FOX knows for sure.
