TNT Just Shoots for San Giacomo
She'll star in 'Grace' pilot with Holly Hunter
Former "Just Shoot Me" star Laura San Giacomo is headed back to television in the TNT pilot "Grace."San Giacomo, Leon Rippy ("Deadwood") and Bokeem Woodbine ("Ray," "Blade: The Series") have all signed on to the show, which stars Holly Hunter as a burned-out Oklahoma City detective who's visited by an angel offering her a shot at redemption.
Rippy, who played bar owner Tom Nuttall on "Deadwood" and currently co-stars in "Gridiron Gang," will play the angel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. San Giacomo is set to play Hunter's best friend, a forensic scientist, while Woodbine will play a convict who can also see the angel.
In addition to "Grace," San Giacomo has also signed for a recurring part on The CW's "Veronica Mars" this season, which will reunite her with her "Just Shoot Me" co-star, Enrico Colantoni.
Elsewhere on the casting front, Ty Burrell ("Out of Practice") and model Brooklyn Decker have joined NBC's comedy pilot "Lipshitz Saves the World." The show centers on a teenager (Jack Carpenter) who discovers he might hold the key to rescuing Earth from destruction.
Burrell will play the main character's nemesis, and Decker will play a girl Lipshitz likes.
