Pilots: Pair Committed to NBC's 'Legally Mad'
Charity Wakefield, Jon Seda join David E. Kelley show
David E. Kelley has gone across the Atlantic to find a star for his pilot "Legally Mad."British actress Charity Wakefield has taken the lead role in the project, about a young lawyer who joins the cast of eccentrics at her father's firm. The NBC pilot has also added Jon Seda ("Close to Home") to its cast, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Seda and Wakefield join Kristin Chenoweth in the cast.
Wakefield will play Brady Hamm, whose devotion to her dad leads her to join his law firm despite more attractive job offers out of law school. The firm is populated by the likes of a cheery but occasionally psychotic attorney (Chenoweth) who's often mistaken for a teenager and a cranky "equal-opportunity offender" (Seda).
Wakefield starred in the BBC/PBS adaptation of "Sense and Sensibility" last year, playing Marianne Dashwood. She also appeared in the Beeb's period drama "Casualty 1907."
Seda is a veteran of "Homicide" and "Kevin Hill." He also stars in HBO's World War II miniseries "The Pacific," which is scheduled to premiere later this year.
