'Labor Pains' will come into the world on ABC Family

Sorry, Lindsay Lohan, but you've been downgraded to cable.

The actress' latest film "Labor Pains" has bypassed theaters and will instead premiere on ABC Family, a network spokesperson confirms.

In the film, Lohan's character Thea fakes a pregnancy to avoid being fired from her job. Unfortunately, the lie carries over to her real life as well, and she's stuck trying to keep up the pretense for nine months. The film costars Janeane Garofalo, Cheryl Hines and Chris Parnell.

Moving the film to cable may not be the best news for Lohan, but "Labor Pains" fits in with ABC Family's young female demographic that has been flocking to "The Secret Life of the American Teenager," but have thus far been treated to original movies such as "Au Pair 3."

There's no specific release date set, but the network expects to air the film in the summer.

Lohan last appeared on the big screen in "Chapter 27," and on ABC's "Ugly Betty" in a guest starring arc.
