'Cloverfield' Actress Joins 'CSI'
Jessica Lucas will play Veronica Lake (not visa versa)
Jessica Lucas has signed on for "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," a casting move that couldn't possibly have anything to do with the fate of Jorja Fox on the show.CBS announced that Lucas will play Veronica Lake ("Ronnie," we're told, lest we confuse the character with the "Sullivan's Travels" bombshell), "a young, vivacious, curious and smart new CSI in training who chose to go to Vegas because of the increase in crime rates there."
Media reports are taking pains to emphasize that Lucas is only committed to a four-episode arc and that her character isn't a replacement for Fox's Sara Sidle, whose future was left very much up in the air after the drama's seventh season finale.
Previous TV credits for Lucas include "Life As We Know It" and "Edgemont." She's been seen on the big screen in "She's the Man," "The Covenant" and in the much-discussed early 2008 monster flick temporarily called "Cloverfield" (or "01-18-08").
