Harden seeks 'Damages,' Fox guests on 'Rescue Me'

The already impressive cast of "Damages" has added another award-winning actress to its lineup for the coming season, and "Rescue Me" is welcoming a multiple Emmy winner to its world.

Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden has signed on to "Damages," FX President John Landgraf announced at the TCA press tour Tuesday. He also confirmed that former "Spin City" star Michael J. Fox will appear in four episodes of "Rescue Me's" next season. Both shows are scheduled to premiere early next year.

Fox is set to play a new boyfriend for Janet (Andrea Roth), firefighter Tommy Gavin's ( Denis Leary) ex-wife. The character is also confined to a wheelchair, which will almost certainly cause Tommy no end of consternation.

Fox has won Emmys for his work on "Spin City" and "Family Ties." He was also nominated for his guest-starring stint on "Boston Legal" two years ago.

On "Damages," Harden will play a high-powered attorney who opposes Patty Hewes ( Glenn Close) on a case. She was nominated for an Emmy last year for a guest turn on "Law & Order: SVU" and won an Academy Award in 2000 for "Pollock." Her recent film credits include "The Mist" and "Into the Wild."
