Alyssa Milano, Anne Archer take Lifetime projects
TNT and Lifetime have each added to the casts of their respective "Family" pilots, while the latter has also signed Alyssa Milano for one of its original movies. At TNT, Martin Mull has come aboard "Family Man," a drama pilot that stars William H. Macy as a well-liked father of three who moonlights as the leader of a burglary ring. Mull will play Macy's brother, who according to The Hollywood Reporter fancies himself an intellectual but has difficulty with the thought of work.
Mull has been working steadily for some 30 years, stretching back to "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" and "Fernwood 2-Nite." Recent credits include guest spots on "The War at Home" and "American Dad" and the IFC series "Hopeless Pictures."
Lifetime, meanwhile, has added Anne Archer ("Short Cuts," "Clear and Present Danger") to its pilot "Family Practice." She'll play the wife of Beau Bridges' character and the matriarch of a Chicago family that wields power in the city's legal community. Archer also has recurring parts on CBS' "Ghost Whisperer" and FX's "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."
