Etheridge, Partner Become Mothers of Twins
Daughter's name is Johnnie Rose; son is named Miller Steven
"I Need to Wake Up" singer Melissa Etheridge will have to get used to sleep deprivation for a little while.The musician and her partner, actress Tammy Lynn Michaels, became the proud new parents of twins on Tuesday, Oct. 17, report new sources.
Both daughter Johnnie Rose and son Miller Steven are in "excellent health" reads a statement on Etheridge's official website.
"The creation of life brings about immeasurable love, and pours hope into the future," the statement continues. "The joy will help carry us through our upcoming sleepless nights." The couple exchanged vows in Malibu in September 2003.
When the pregnancy was first announced in April, the couple also informed the public that they used an anonymous sperm donor this time around. In a previous relationship Etheridge had with Julie Cypher, they conceived two children -- daughter Bailey Jean and son Beckett -- via artificial insemination courtesy of friend/rocker David Crosby.
Etheridge, 45, won two Grammys for best female rock vocal performance for the songs "Ain't It Heavy" and "Come to My Window."
Michaels, 31, first became known for playing a Glamazon cheerleader Nicole on "Popular." She then went on to play Tess on "Committed" and guest starred on "The L Word."
