'Saturday Night Live' Adds Abby Elliott, Michaela Watkins
Both comedians will debut on this Saturday's edition
"Saturday Night Live" has added Abby Elliott and Michaela Watkins as featured players to the sketch comedy troupe, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Elliott, 26, is the daughter of actor Chris Elliott, which makes her a second-generation "SNL" player. Her father was a cast member of the 1994-1995 season. She's a performer for the Upright Citizens Brigade and Groundlings comedy groups and has provided the voice for Melrose on "King of the Hill" and Bliss Goode on midseason show "The Goode Family," both by Mike Judge.
Watkins may be recognized for playing the recurring role of Lucy on CBS' "The New Adventures of Old Christine" this season. She also comes with Groundlings experience and has made guest appearances on "Eli Stone," "Californication" and "Grey's Anatomy."
Both women will debut on this Saturday's edition of the show. There's no word if either one will be sitting at the Weekend Update desk now that Poehler has left the show. Poehler and her husband, comedian Will Arnett, became the parents of a baby boy on Saturday, Oct. 25.
