Michelle Rodriguez, a star of ABC's hit series "Lost," has pleaded guilty to DUI in Hawaii and will serve a brief jail sentence for the offense.

Rodriguez, 27, entered her guilty plea Tuesday morning in Kaneohe District Court on the island of Oahu, where "Lost" is filmed. She was arrested last December and charged with driving under the influence; co-star Cynthia Watros was also booked that night on a similar charge.

Judge James Dannenburg gave Rodriguez a choice between a five-day jail sentence or 240 hours of community service. The Honolulu Star-Bulletin reports the actress opted for the jail time and was to return to the courthouse Tuesday afternoon to be taken into custody. She'll receive credit for the time she served following her arrest.

Watros, who like Rodriguez joined "Lost" this season, pleaded guilty to DUI earlier in the year. She was fined, ordered to attend an alcohol-education program and had her driver's license suspended for 90 days.

Rodriguez received a stiffer penalty. She was already on probation for a 2004 DUI conviction in Los Angeles; prosecutors there have asked a judge to revoke her probation in light of her arrest in Hawaii. A hearing on the motion is scheduled for next week.
