MTV Goes Looking for 'Bromance'
Ryan Seacrest-produced show stars Brody Jenner
The cable channel, which greenlit " Paris Hilton's My New BFF" earlier this year, will now help occasional "Hills" presence Brody Jenner find a new member of his entourage. The show, called "Bromance" and executive produced by Ryan Seacrest, has secured a six-episode commitment.
Part goof on shows like "The Bachelor" and part capitalization on pop-cultural touchstones "Superbad" and "Entourage," the show will bring guys from around the country to L.A., where they will hang with Jenner and take part in challenges ranging from skydiving into Las Vegas to serving as Jenner's wingman.
"As every guy knows, close male friendships aren't just a quirky television plotline or a running gag in the movies," " American Idol" host and budding TV mogul Seacrest says. "'Bromance' is the first reality series to fully explore the essence of these life-long friendships."
Each episode will feature a "group date" and a lucky guy getting some "alone time" with Jenner. Shows will end with -- and we have to admit, this sounds kind of funny -- a hot-tub elimination ceremony, where the vanquished dude must rise from the tub and leave the show while still wearing his wet board shorts.
"Bromance" will mark Jenner's fourth appearance on a reality series. He starred in FOX's ill-fated "Princes of Malibu" a few years back and has appeared in numerous episodes of "The Hills." He also popped up on the Seacrest-produced E! series "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," which stars his stepsister Kim Kardashian.
