Meet NBC's 'Celebrity Circus' Performers
Joey Fatone hosts; Rachel Hunter, Christopher Knight join troupe
NBC has lined up the more-famous-than-you-or-me participants, from a supermodel to a "Jackass," for its summertime series "Celebrity Circus."The six celebs will train and perform "some of the most death-defying circus acts ever seen on television," as NBC demurely puts it, in front of a live studio audience each week. Former *NSync member, "Dancing with the Stars" runner-up and "Singing Bee" host will serve as ringmaster for the show, which debuts Wednesday, June 11.
The stars -- Rachel Hunter, Jason "Wee Man" Acuna, Christopher Knight, Antonio Sabato Jr., Blu Cantrell and Janet Evans -- will work with experts in honing their Cirque du Soleil-style acts, which range from high-wire stunts to the trapeze to something called the "Wheel of Death."
Per usual with competition shows, viewers will get to vote on which celeb is eliminated after hearing from a panel of judges. Endemol USA, which brings you "Deal or No Deal" and "Big Brother," among other shows, is producing the series.
